MusicalHotSpot.com is a site/blog maintained by Aussie Kris Anderson that provides a wealth of information for musical improv, often from the point of view of the musician. It seems the blog is no longer actively maintained (January 2012) but the site remains a treasure trove for information about musical improv. Highly recommended.
