Opening

An opening is the start of a Long Form performance. The opening can be anything (a monologue, word association, song), and is used to set the theme around which players will be improvising.

Openings can be skipped altogether. Not all longform formats have or need an opening.

Tragedy is when I hurt my thumb. Comedy is when you fall in a manhole and die --- Mel Brooks
